| General description【一般描述】 | Unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 1 (ULK1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase which forms a component of the ULK1 protein kinase complex. This protein complex also contains the adaptor proteins ATG (autophagy-related) 13, RB1CC1/FIP200 (RB1-inducible coiled-coil 1), and ATG101. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 12q24.33. |

| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | Unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 1 (ULK1) protein kinase plays a crucial role in the control of autophagy initiation. This protein is responsible for activating a cascade of signaling pathways which results in the formation of phagosomes. ULK1 is also required for the control of the expression of key interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs). |
